With effect from Friday, 8TH July, the following changes will take place.
(a) Men’s indices on holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 13, 15 will change. These changes are as a result of an investigation carried out by the handicaps & competitions committees.
(b) Following a report received from our sub-committee set up to investigate our local rules, a number of changes will be made as follows.
1. Internal out of bounds will be removed from the 18th hole.
2. Any ball coming to rest on a tee box must be played as it lies or declared unplayable and dropped under penalty.
3. Drainage gratings recently installed on the course are immovable obstructions.
4. Artificial hole plugs are deemed immovable obstructions. Should an artificial hole plug intervene on your line of putt, you may lift your ball and replace it at the neareset point of relief, not nearer the hole.
5. The water hazard on the 18th hole has been changed to a lateral water hazard. This change will take effect when the stakes have been changed from yellow to red.
Lastly, we ask members not to remove tee markers from tee boxes. On a number of occasions recently, tee markers, which had been placed by the course staff for matches scheduled for later in the day, were removed.
Council understands that some confusion can arise with different coloured tee markers but it is essential that they are not removed.
EAMONN HUDSON,
HON. SECRETARY.
6TH JULY, 2011.
