The 2nd leg of the Metropolitan Cup Final will tee off at 12 noon on Sunday 28th August in Lucan GC. Lucan carry a 1 point deficit into the 2nd leg having lost the 1st leg 4 – 5. Members, family and friends are encouraged to come along to support the team and enjoy a great day’s entertainment. We will be providing an electronic scoreboard in the clubhouse for those who wish to combine the Metro with lunch, the All-Ireland football semi-final or a combination of both. The Metro itself promises to provide a feast of golf as both teams contain top class golfers from top to bottom of the order.
The restaurant are providing a Carvery at €12.00 all day. There will also be rolls and other take away delicacies for those who cannot drag themselves away from the live action for too long.
The bar will be providing drinks at member’s prices for all over the course of the day.
The weather is expected to be ideal for golf whether it be playing or spectating. On the course there will be a scoreboard with each match. This information will be relayed back to the clubhouse where the electronic scoreboard will reflect the latest information on the match at all times. It is possible to see live golf from the clubhouse and environs for most of the day and keep up to date with the match position. The following is one scenario that on may wish follow. Bring your binoculars to add to the experience.
One can watch all 9 matches tee off from the first either outside at the tee box or from the upstairs windows. The groups will tee off at approx. 10 minute intervals so this will take 80 minutes. By the time the last group leave the 1st green 90 minutes will have passed.
At that stage the 1st group will be on the 7th tee which is again visible from the environs of the clubhouse. watch a number of groups go through and then move to the 9th green which is also close by. When all groups have gone through it will be time for the senior football match. The electronic scoreboard will be set up beside the television. When you see which Metro matches are critical you can then decide where to go to support your man. If we look at the image below we see that the 16th green is also close to the clubhouse.
