Back in April when Lucan beat Castleknock in the first round of the Miele and there were 3000 women competing   nobody was thinking ahead to Kilkenny and the finals, however 8 matches later there they were in the final of the Miele all Ireland against Faithlegg.

On Sat Lucan won on holes up 5 -3 against  Mountbellew with Sandra and Grace going to 19th and Kate and Patricia Collins going to the 20th (in near darkness)

It was a great weekend with fabulous golf played, and it all finished with a suberb birdie by Sandra McCaffrey – on the 5th hole of extra play.

Sandra sinks the winning putt

Having watched nearly 12 hours of golf over the weekend the supporters were willing the putts in for each of the extra holes. It was a hugely proud moment for each and every person there  and  many a tear of joy was shed on the 23rd hole when that final putt dropped. 

To manager Hazel, players Sandra, Grace, Kate, Patricia Collins, Molly, Catriona, Yvonne and Patricia Kelly, and subs Joanne and Una  we extend our heartiest congratulation for bringing back Lucans first All Ireland for the ladies.

This Thursday (Oct 13th) we will be celebrating with the Miele Team with a special Miele Menu from 6pm. There will be a slide show of photos from the weekend running and the option of having some champagne from the cup! Presenation to the team and also for Thurs competition will take place at 8pm
