Recent Notable Achievements
Richie O’Donovan (left) became the first Lucan Junior to represent Ireland at the European Boys Championship in Slovenia. He also represented the country in the 2008 Boys Internationals in Royal County Down, where Ireland beat the holders England to lift the trophy. Richie, playing off scratch, also played on the Boys Under-18 inter-provincial team in 2008, representing Leinster. In 2011, Richie went on to become the East of Ireland Champion, the crowning glory of a highly successful amateur career to date.
Tony Goode, who was Lucan’s first International cap, in 2006 represented Ireland in the Home Internationals and the European Seniors. In 2007, in Bled in Austria, he received a gold medal as part of the winning team (Ireland successfully defended in Shannon in 2008). Tony was also the first from south of the border to win the Ulster Seniors in Clandeboyne in 2006, and repeated the feat in 2007. In 2008, he was elected to the GUI Leinster branch. Tony managed the Leinster Youth’s team to success in Cork Golf Club in the interprovincials.

Pio O’Leary is the current holder of the course record in Lucan Golf Club with a 66 in June 2005. His round included an albatross on the 17th (see card below)
The ladies course record of 71 was set by Marie Urquhart in June 2003.
