Course Open

Five members of the inaugural Carton Cup Lucan Golf Club team eventually got to play their match on Sunday 23rd February in Kileen Golf Club.   This match was supposed to be played on Sunday 16th but rained off that day.     We had drawn home advantage but unfortunaely due to the very wet weather our course was not opened and  since we were on final deadline we had to switch to Killeen at last minute.       None of the girls had ever seen Killeen let alone practice it but gave a tremdous performance .   Killeen won 3-2 on the day and go on to semi finals.   This new competition which is opened to Lady Members with handicaps 37 - 45 is the brainchild of Lady Captain of Carton Roisin Lyons and the CGI and is a great way of introducing new players to inter club competition.    Our Ladies enjoed the experience and  indeed will stand to them for the 2020 season.   Organiser Sinead Keane from Carton Golf CLub came out to Killeen on Sunday to wish the girls well and see them start.     This was most appreciated.

I would like to thank all our panel for their committment and enthusiasm, our caddies who had to chop and change at short notice and to our Lady supporters who came out to cheer us on.   We will be back next year to compete again.
