Stage 1 of our Golf4girls4life program is now complete with 28 girls ranging in ages from 8 to 13 participating in the 8 week program.
The aim of the program is to provide a framework to map the progression of girls from new to the game, beginner level, through to achieving a handicap of 35, at an appropriate rate for them as individuals.
This involves ensuring they become proficient in all elements of the game as well as becoming integrated into the club environment with the result of increased participation and retention of girls.
Over the 8 weeks with the support of a strong team of volunteers and our PGA professional Jim, the girls were introduced to pitching, chipping and putting through fun games and challenges.
Stage 1 of the program culminated in a 3 hole scramble on course, followed by refreshments and presentation of certificates and badges in the club house after.
Congratulations to all the girls.
